IRONMAN Valdivia
IRONMAN Valdivia is an inaugural race on 29 November 2026, with both the 140.6 and the 70.3 on the programme. Valdivia sits in southern Chile where several rivers meet, in a region shaped by Mapuche, Spanish and German settlement.
A first edition is a trade. You get a course nobody has raced yet and a town that treats the event as an occasion. You also get first-year execution: aid station placement, transition flow and road closures are all being run for the first time, and having a 3.8 km and a 1.9 km swim start on the same morning adds to what the organisers are managing.
Late November is early summer in Chile, mild rather than hot, and this is one of the wetter parts of the country in any season. Getting there means Santiago, then a domestic flight or a long drive south.
