Most popular run clubs in the world, ranked by search interest

By search interest, parkrun is the most popular run club in the world: about 201,000 people a month search for it by name, six times more than the next club, Nike Run Club (33,100). This list ranks nine named run clubs and networks by those searches, says what each one is, and is clear about what a search count can and cannot show.
The ranking at a glance
We ranked each club by the average number of times a month people search for it on Google, worldwide, in English. Each row uses one query, listed in the table. Where a bare brand name is mostly searched for something else, we used the "run club" version of the name instead.
The last two columns are our stand-in for buzz. They compare the average monthly searches in October to December 2025 with July to September 2026. A change of more than 20% counts as rising or falling, and anything smaller counts as flat.
| Rank and club | Query measured | Searches a month | Oct to Dec 2025 → Jul to Sep 2026 | Search interest |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1. parkrun | parkrun | 201,000 | 231,000 → 189,000 | Flat |
| 2. Nike Run Club | nike run club | 33,100 | 33,600 → 47,200 | Rising |
| 3. Hash House Harriers | hash house harriers | 6,600 | 6,600 → 8,200 | Rising |
| 4. ASICS FrontRunner | asics frontrunners | 3,600 | 2,400 → 1,100 | Falling |
| 5. Brooks Run Club | brooks run club | 2,900 | 2,300 → 4,100 | Rising |
| 6. Back on My Feet | back on my feet | 1,900 | 1,700 → 1,800 | Flat |
| 7. November Project | november project | 1,600 | 1,400 → 1,400 | Flat |
| 8. adidas Runners | adidas runners club | 1,600 | 1,400 → 1,400 | Flat |
| 9. Mikkeller Running Club | mikkeller running club | 1,000 | 900 → 1,000 | Flat |
1. parkrun
parkrun is a free, timed 5k that runs on Saturday mornings in public parks, organised by volunteers rather than by a shoe brand. It began on 2 October 2004 as a time trial in Bushy Park, London.
It is also the most British result on the list. About 110,000 of its 201,000 monthly searches come from the United Kingdom, so the worldwide number reflects one very strong home market as much as a global following.
We list parkrun (Perth metro) on our Perth run clubs page.
2. Nike Run Club
Nike describes Nike Run Club as an app with everything you need to start running, keep running and enjoy running more. It also runs in-person sessions in some cities: a press release about its Ginza store in Tokyo says coached and paced NRC sessions let local runners meet and train together.
Read the 33,100 with care. Searching "nike run club app" alone gets 12,100 a month, so a large share of this number is people looking for the app rather than a group to run with.
3. Hash House Harriers
Hash House Harriers is a worldwide set of non-competitive social running clubs. The first was founded in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in December 1938. A "hare" lays a trail and the pack follows. Events require a small fee, called hash cash, to cover costs.
There is no single governing body and no one official count of chapters, so we do not give one. Each chapter sets its own schedule. We list three of them: Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket.
4. ASICS FrontRunner
ASICS FrontRunner is not a club you can simply turn up to. It is an application-only ambassador programme: you apply with a OneASICS account and an Instagram Reel, and members agree to join at least one team meeting a year. The 2026 application window ran from 12 to 18 January.
It is the only entry on this list whose searches fell by more than 20% over the year, from about 2,400 a month to 1,100. We do not know why.
5. Brooks Run Club
Despite the name, Brooks Run Club is a free loyalty programme and not a group run. Brooks says you sign up, connect a fitness device and earn "strides" for runs of at least 1 km, which unlock rewards at set milestones.
It is the fastest riser on the list, up from about 2,300 searches a month to 4,100. That tells you people are searching for the rewards programme, not that more people are joining weekly runs.
6. Back on My Feet
Back on My Feet is a United States nonprofit that uses running to help people experiencing homelessness and addiction. It was registered as a 501(c)(3) on 3 July 2007 in Philadelphia. Members commit to run three days a week and get workshops and a mentor.
It is a run club in the sense that people run together, but members join from a shelter or a rehabilitation facility, so it is not a drop-in social run.
7. November Project
November Project is a free fitness movement that meets in the morning on weekdays. It began in Boston and is registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit headquartered there. Its own site says it costs nothing, and that you only need to show up.
We list November Project Chicago on our Chicago run clubs page. It ties with adidas Runners at 1,600 searches a month.
8. adidas Runners
adidas describes adidas Runners as a community rather than a traditional running club. It says joining is free, through the adidas Running app, and that it began in Berlin and Paris in 2016. A 2021 report on its expansion in the Gulf describes weekly social runs, track sessions and longer weekend runs.
We list adidas Runners Berlin on our Berlin run clubs page.
9. Mikkeller Running Club
Mikkeller Running Club is run by the Danish brewery. It describes itself as an international social running club for people who share a love of beer, camaraderie and adventure, and says you do not need to be an experienced runner. It was founded in Copenhagen in the autumn of 2014.
In October 2024 Mikkeller said the club had more than 30,000 members and 250 chapters across five continents. We list Mikkeller Running Club Bangkok on our Bangkok run clubs page.
What search volume can and cannot show
A search count measures how often people look a club up by name. It is a fair indication of awareness, and it is the only measure here we could check ourselves. It is not membership, attendance or how good a club is.
Three things distort it. First, one name can mean several things: "nike run club" includes the app, and "brooks run club" is a rewards programme. Second, home markets: parkrun is strongest in Britain. Third, some brands we tried were left out because the bare name is clearly searched for something else. "midnight runners" gets 135,000 searches a month, yet "midnight runners club" gets 210 and "midnight runners london" 390. "bandit running" gets 90,500 against 170 for "bandit run club". We cannot tell what the larger numbers mean, so we did not rank those clubs.
The figures come from Google Ads keyword data, which rounds volumes, and from one point in time. Treat the order of the lower rows, which sit within a few hundred searches of each other, as approximate.
Which run clubs have the most buzz?
We do not have verified follower counts or social post volumes for these clubs, so we do not rank on them and we do not claim to measure social media hype. What we can see is whether searches are rising, because searches are a rough signal of attention.
On that measure three clubs are rising: Brooks Run Club (up about 77%), Nike Run Club (up about 41%) and Hash House Harriers (up about 24%). One is falling, ASICS FrontRunner. The rest are flat.
The comparison is autumn against summer, so seasonal effects are possible, and a rise in searches does not prove a rise in members.
Why are run clubs growing?
Among people who track their exercise, quickly. Running clubs on Strava grew 3.5 times in 2025, according to Strava's Year in Sport 2025 report, and new clubs on the platform nearly quadrupled, taking the total to 1 million. A year earlier its 2024 report cited a 59% increase in running club participation globally.
Part of the pull is that the alternatives have shrunk. In July 2025, 54% of U.S. adults told Gallup they drink alcohol, the lowest share in the poll's trend since 1939. That comes from a poll of 1,002 adults with a margin of error of plus or minus 4 points, so it is a signal rather than a precise count.
Strava users already track their exercise, so its numbers describe active people, not everyone. These figures sit side by side and do not prove that one caused the other.

Run club questions
What is the most popular run club in the world?
By search interest, parkrun. About 201,000 people a month search for it by name worldwide, against 33,100 for Nike Run Club. Roughly 110,000 of the parkrun searches come from the United Kingdom, so it is strongest in its home market.
How did you rank the most popular run clubs?
By average monthly Google searches for each club by name, worldwide, in English, using one query per club (Google Ads data via DataForSEO, retrieved 27 October 2026). We do not rank on social media followers because we have no verified figures for them.
Is Nike Run Club a real run club?
Nike describes it as an app, and it also runs in-person coached sessions in some cities. A large share of its 33,100 monthly searches is for the app: "nike run club app" alone gets 12,100.
Are these run clubs free?
parkrun is free, and so is November Project, according to each. adidas says joining adidas Runners is free. Hash House Harriers chapters usually charge a small fee called hash cash. Check each club’s own page before you go.
Is the Brooks Run Club a group run?
No. Brooks describes it as a free loyalty programme where you earn rewards for logging runs. It still ranks fifth because people search for it by name.
